In order to strengthen academic exchanges in the field of myeloid immune cell research, discuss the research status, development trend and challenges to be addressed in myeloid immune cell-related research, and condense and put forward important basic scientific issues that our country urgently needs to pay attention to and solve in this research field, starting in 2023, Professor Lai Guan Ng, Professor Hu Xiaoyu of Tsinghua University, and Professor Chen Jun of Sun Yat-sen University organized a seminar on "Frontier Research Progress of Myeloid Immune Cells" with the help of the Immune Cell Biology Branch of the Chinese Society of Cell Biology.

The "First Frontier Progress in Myeloid Immune Cell Research" Symposium was successfully held in Sanya, Hainan Province on January 9, 2024. The symposium was hosted by the Immune Cell Biology Branch of the Chinese Society of Cell Biology, and invited more than 10 well-known experts engaged in myeloid immune cell biology research in China to participate in the meeting and give keynote reports, and established the "Myeloid Interest Group (MIG)".

Participating in the seminar were Professor Wu Li and Professor Hu Xiaoyu of Tsinghua University, Professor Lai Guan Ng, Professor Chakarov Svetoslav Georgiev, Professor Tiffany Horng, Professor Wang Jing, Professor Zheng Limin and Professor Chen Jun of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Wang Di of Zhejiang University, Professor Zhong Bo of Wuhan University, and Professor Li Hanjie of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. During the forum, each presenter shared and discussed cutting-edge scientific issues in myeloid immune cell biology research and related unpublished research data and progress, which triggered heated discussions among the delegates.
