Clarivate Analytics' Global Highly Cited Scientists list is selected annually to recognize scholars in the natural and social sciences with global impact who have made significant contributions to their disciplines.

The 2023 list is based on the number of highly cited papers published during the 11-year period from January 2012 to December 2022. The selection method is based on the bibliometric experts of Clarivate Analytics Institute of Science Informatics who rigorously evaluate and sort out the data of highly cited papers in SCIE and SSCI included journals, covering 188,500 highly cited papers in various disciplines.
